The Capital Summit is a Latin American investment meeting and a point of effective connections between investors and entrepreneurs. Its fifth edition was held at the Pacific Valley Events Center on September 3.
This event marked a milestone in the provision of our live subtitling service. Since 2007, we have been using stenography and voice recognition systems. Incorporating artificial intelligence was a great challenge, as we always prioritized quality. However, we successfully implemented this technology after a rigorous testing process in response to the customer's needs. Our technical team supervised the event to ensure the accuracy of the subtitles in all international presentations.
- Audio quality: The quality of the audio signal is critical to the accuracy of the transcription. Background noise, echoes, or connection problems may affect system performance.
- Speaker speed: Fast speakers can present a challenge to transcription systems, as they can make word segmentation difficult.
- Speaker changes: When several speakers take turns, the system must be able to identify voice changes and adapt the transcription accordingly.
- Accents or dialects: The system is quite good at identifying speakers from different regions. It is not perfect, but the result is satisfactory.
Challenges of live subtitling with artificial intelligence:
This solution allowed all attendees, regardless of their listening or native language level, to follow the presentations and panel discussions in real-time. The client expressed their satisfaction with the result and indicated that the quality of our system is far superior to others they have used in previous events.
In conclusion, using live captioning with artificial intelligence at Capital Summit 2024 represents an important step towards creating more inclusive and accessible events. In addition, these live subtitling solutions are becoming increasingly accurate and capable of recognizing multiple languages and dialects.
