"Los Billis" with English subtitles by ATmedios

Details
Published: 19 February 2024

In the 1980s, one of the decades that was marked by the rise of pop, rock, and hip-hop music, teenagers listened to artists such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, U2, and Guns N' Roses on their Walkman—enjoying the music and culture of this era.

The name "Los Billis," as they were baptized, derives from the international fame of the musical group Bee Gees, interpreter of the movie "Saturday Night Fever" movie soundtrack. They got this name because of their full and voluminous hairstyles and peculiar way of dancing in any discotheque. These teenagers were orphans of an upper-middle-class society, which eventually molded and treated them as adults when, in reality, they were no older than 15 years old.

Their story takes place in the first shopping mall in the city of Bogota, Unicentro, where they walked the aisles in which they enjoyed being the center of attention and forming sides wherever they went. They caused furor and fear because, just as they were popular for their hairstyle, walking, and even for their bikes, they were also popular for their way of making trouble where there was none, and they did it just because they wanted to be respected. Characters beyond fiction tell us the story of how this gang, who managed to have a mob of boys at their command, became masters of the busiest places in the city and how, over time, they adopted the world of drug trafficking. As a consequence, some lost their lives, others ended up as criminals, and many others were redeemed when they reached adulthood. All this triggered the end of this era.

Where can you watch the series Los Billis in Colombia?

This story can be found on Prime Video. We are proud to have been part of it, as we did the English subtitles for all the series chapters.

When contracting these services for a production such as "Los Billis," several important aspects must be considered when selecting the supplier:

  • Depending on the platform on which they will be played, the subtitles must comply with the requirements and standards of that platform since not all of them have the same requirements, i.e., subtitles made for one platform may not be accepted on another. Therefore, you should consider a supplier that knows and can meet the required standards.

  • For the success of these productions, it is very important to keep your content in reserve until the series is actually made available to the public on the platform. Therefore, when contracting services such as subtitling, closed captioning, audio description, dubbing, or any other related service, you should look for a provider such as ATmedios, which has the experience, support, infrastructure, internal policies, and confidentiality agreements with all the people and the production chain of these services and can offer the expected quality and response times.
