Ángel (played by the actor Junior Polo) is a young man with cognitive impairment who wants to be an athlete like his father, José Santos Rodríguez. As a child, he had the unconditional support of his mother and grandfather, who enrolled him in the "Carrera del Mar 500 years" to fulfill one of his long-awaited dreams:"to become a champion like a dad". However, he suffered rejection and discrimination from his father, brother, and schoolmates for much of his life. Still, despite the difficulties, he continued without letting those facts mark him and demonstrated his abilities in different settings.
Undoubtedly, this film demonstrates that there are no limitations to achieving dreams and leaves the viewer to reflect on how understanding, love, and acceptance manage to change the way we see the world.
The producer of this film once again placed his trust in ATmedios to hire accessibility services for people with disabilities: we perform audio description, interpretation in Colombian sign language, and subtitles in English and Spanish.
The film's premiere took place in mid-July in theaters in Colombia and collects the box office to support FIDES Foundation programs. In addition, accessibility services are currently available on the "Cinema for All" platform, a MinTIC project, which offers people with disabilities new spaces for entertainment and inclusion, which has had the experience of ATmedios to implement the services mentioned above.
