The Partnership is a US organization. It is led by people with disabilities that aim to achieve the full inclusion of this community before, during, and after disasters and public health emergencies.
For two days, they developed a workshop on strategies to follow in the vaccination process against COVID-19. They highlighted the importance of accessibility in each of the places designated for vaccination and commented on some shortcomings. In addition, they socialized the experiences they have lived in this vaccination process, mainly about the care and management medical personnel must give to people according to the type of disability. The dynamic of this space was based on formulating real-life situations that people with disabilities face so that the attendees could give a possible solution in each case. In this way, the organization exposed the guidelines to follow.
In the first minutes of the event, the speakers described their physical appearance so that people with visual disabilities could have a better idea about how they looked. They also informed the attendees where and how they could access the simultaneous interpretation services of English to Spanish, live subtitling or CART in English and Spanish, and American Sign Language interpretation available at the event.
ATmedios carried out the CART in Spanish through an alternate subtitling platform to which attendees could access the link provided to them through the Zoom chat at the beginning of the event. Once each day's sessions were finished, as an additional requirement, the client asked us to perform the interpretation in Mexican sign language. To this end, he provided us with the audio of each session. Then the interpretation and post-production of all the content were carried out.
