FICCI Hall, a space created by the festival for panels, discussions, press conferences and master classes, will have the participation of Deputy ICT Minister Maria Carolina Hoyos on Thursday March 12, 2015. Ms. Hoyos will present the "Cinema for All" project to attendees. In addition, as part of the festival's program, three films will be screened with audio description for blind people and subtitles for deaf people.
From 2:00 p.m., Ms. Hoyos will present the project that has benefited visually and auditorily impaired people for more than two years thanks to audio description, sign language and subtitles developed by the Colombian company ATmedios.
During the conference, attendees will also learn how the WhatsCine app works. Thanks to this application, people who are blind or with low vision can listen to a movie's audio description through their cell phones and tablets. This application also allows deaf people to see the Colombian sign language interpretation through their smart glasses.
On the other hand, the Colombian films "Decent People", "Three Scapulars" and "Pink Noise" will premiere on March 17 during special screenings with audio description technology.
These special screenings of "Cinema for All" will start at 3:00 p.m. (Caribbean Plaza's Cine Colombia Theaters - Pie de la Popa, Calle 29D 22-108) at the following times:
- 3:00 p.m.: “Three Scapulars” - Caribbean Plaza Theater 5
- 5:00 p.m.: “Pink Noise” - Caribbean Plaza Theater 4
- 7:40 p.m.: “Decent People” - Caribbean Plaza Theater 5
